Marvel's The Avengers!

Sammie <3: OMG! best movie ever!!!!! (just saying) lol action packed, and super funny. Loki, (Thor's really annoying brother. . .who is adopted) trys to take over the earth. Nick Fury brings together a group of humans with special abilities (Captain America, Iron Man, Hulk a.k.a Bruce Banner, Black widow, Thor, and Hawk Eye) to stop this monster, with many hilarious consequences. with earth invaded by aliens and no way to close the portal to there dimension, how do the Avengers save us you ask? only one way to find out. . . go watch the movie ;) i personally plan on watching it again soon.

breaking dawn

Sammie <3: wow, its been quite a while since we've updated this blog. lol ive just been busy with my other one(sammiegirl50237.blogspot.com), i havent really had time for this one. so the most recent movie we've seen is probably Breaking Dawn... this was an outstanding movie! probably my favorite. finally, bella is a vampire! lol if only it didnt take 4 movies to do. i was so disappointed to find out they split breaking dawn into 2 parts. :'( the best part of the book to me was the second half lol. but i guess ill have to wait. i love this movie and i cant wait to see it on dvd.

Pirates of the Carribean 4

Sammie: Best movie ever! You would think that removing a few characters from the movie would ruin it, but on the contrary it was just as good if not better. Starring Johnny Depp as "Captain" Jack Sparrow (of coarse), Penelope Cruz (Angelica), and the worst pirate of all... Black Beard! (a selfish, cruel, evil pirate i might add). They go on a search for the fountain of youth. There is a sacrifice in order to gain life from the fountain. one drinks the cup with life, while someone else drinks from the cup that kills you and gives your life to the other. All of them have different reasons of coarse to search for this fountain (fame, to save family, to gain a soul) so which one will win? Has Captain Barbosa given up piracy, does Black Beard win and drink from the fountain of youth? Does Jack Sparrow have feelings for Angelica? This is a movie you shouldn't miss.

Adam: I liked it!!!!!!

Brides Maides

Sammie: Amazing movie! I loved it! The movie is about a girl named Ann who is used by guys, and can never find the right one. her best friend happens to get engaged. You would think this to be a joyess occation, but in fact it's the complete opposite. With competition for her best friend, a fear of flying, and life totally falling appart, she learns how to suck it up and bite the bullet. The events that happen are hystarical, and is quite brutal to watch. Along the way she finds the man of her dreams, or did she ruin it with her own stupidity from previous relationships? Only one way to find out. i would recomend seeing this movie.

Shelly: Sammie's review totally summed this one up. There were parts (as in the previews) that totally made you laugh, parts that made you look away they were so gross and parts that you just couldn't believe were happening. This is the type of movie that you see and make jokes about for years to come. My personal favorite line, "DON'T LOOK AT ME!!!!" If you see this movie, you will know what that means. :D

Alex: Although she quoted several scenes when this one was over, Alex didn't like this one at all and felt it was way too much for 13 years olds. I completely agree. 15...as in Sammie's age is a completely different beast. Where Sammie loved it, Alex tolerated it.

Adam: I liked it!

Julie & Julia

Leading up to the evening spent with this movie, Adam and I had taken the day off together. The girls were at school. We ended the afternoon by watching a cooking show. After which we desperately wanted italian food. We went out shopping for the food we would make together. Fortunately, right in the case when we first walked in...freshly prepared we found Stuffed Shells, Manicotti and Meatballs. We grabbed a loaf of fresh Italian Bread and bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon on the way home and were good to go. Adam ran Sammie over to a friend's house for a sleep over while I put our yummy finds in the oven to bake. Desert was a black raspberry pie warmed up with vanilla bean ice cream on top. Holy Cow! Good food, great laughs and wonderful memories made. To Adam: Thank you, my love, for always making our family times good. Love, Shel

Alex: I liked this movie. It was sweet and fun to watch. It was sad and you never know what would happen next.I would see it again soon. Meryl Streep did an outstanding job playing the part of Julia Childs.

Shel: I told Adam, this is one for my personal movie collection. I had wanted to see it when it first came out and Adam got it for me to watch just yesterday. It was such fun. Romance, relationship, life lived all with food! Right up my alley in every way. I just loved it.

Adam: (Was gracious to sit through the whole thing with Alex and I. He thought it was good...for a chick flick. :D)

Thor

Alex: The all time best hero movie ever! This suspenseful, action packed adventure will keep you guessing and wondering every step of the way. The graphics\special effects are absolutely amazing. Note; this would be a head turning movie to watch in 3d, so I would stick with the 2d version. Thor "the god of thunder" is a hilarious family movie with a great story and plot. 5 stars, and two thumbs up I would with no doubt see this movie again and again without stop.

Adam: I liked it!

Shelly: I really liked this super hero. He was just such a jerk in the beginning....funny and creative. Good times. This is one we will have to own.

Sammie: An amazing movie with danger around every corner. Action packed, with a great story line. i was pretty shocked because, come on.... Thor? They make him into an amazing superhero. In the movie Thor, the foolish pigheaded god of Thunder tries to make war with the ice giants. because of this, his father banishes him to Earth. The special effects were incredible, and i would recommend seeing this in 2D. 3D would have been too much visually.

Sammie: After a hard evening in Potsdam (NYSSMA solos), i was with one of my friends and her family (they gave me a ride there)
we were looking for a place to have some dinner. My friend suggested a place called "The Ole Smokehouse". Of coarse i had never been there before which sealed the deal. her dad made reservations and within 20 minutes we got there. We walked into a westerly styled restaurant (cowboys, country music, bar to the side that sort of thing) we were seated in a booth in the front near the door. I ordered the cheese burger with a side of loaded baked potato. it wouldn't have been complete though with out the live country singer (Lacey Stoddard) taking requests. The burger was very large and the meet was cooked to perfection. the waitress was a little moody but it was a little busy so it was understandable. it was a very nice restaurant and i will probable go there again.
